First trailer for The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard has arrived

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard's first trailer is here to amp up the excitement for the new action-comedy sequel.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is back as bodyguard Michael Bryce as he attempts to take a vacation from the dangerous bodyguard lifestyle. However, he is soon forced into action by infamous international con artist Sonia (Salma Hayek).

She wants him to rescue none other than her husband, hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L Jackson) and soon the world's most lethal odd couple, along with Sonia, find themselves in over their heads in a global plot that involves a vengeful and powerful madman (Antonio Banderas).

Bryce and his two most dangerous clients could be Europe's last hope against the madman's over-developed sense of national pride – and we're sure that won't go wrong at all.

The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard also brings back Richard E Grant as Mr Seifert, a drug-addicted former client of Bryce's, while director Patrick Hughes also returned with writer Tom O'Connor.

Newcomers to the cast for the sequel include Morgan Freeman, Captain America star Frank Grillo and The Umbrella Academy's Tom Hopper.

Last month, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard was moved up to June 16 in the US from its original August 20 release. It will open in UK cinemas a week later on June 23, assuming cinemas open as planned on May 17.

We'll hopefully soon be seeing Reynolds don his Deadpool outfit for the third movie, but there's been no update on when we'll get to see it. We do at least know that it'll retain the R rating of the previous two Deadpool movies.

"I showed them Spider-Man 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2," joked Reynolds about the R rating confirmation.

The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is out in US cinemas on June 16 and in UK cinemas on June 23.
