Russ: The article says, "Traders are right when they say the stock market evaluates the future, not the past." This suggests that valuation has something to do with it. I disagree. The stock market disconnected from valuation many years ago. The stock market is driven by the narrative that no matter what happens the Fed will fix it by lowering interest rates (even to negative levels) and printing more money. I suppose the belief of most traders must be that the Fed has the power and will to ensure that we never experience another prolonged recession or stock market decline ever again. We'll see if it works. For now maybe but forever?
