Nicolet High School alum Daniel Grambow is First Stage's new managing director, the family-oriented theater company announced Monday.

Grambow succeeds Betsy Corry as First Stage's business leader. Corry retired earlier this year after a total of 17 years in two non-consecutive stints in that role.

Since 2019, Grambow has been managing director of the Chautauqua Opera Company and Conservatory, part of the Chautauqua Institution, a well-known nonprofit educational center in Chautauqua, New York. He has also worked for Chicago's Floating Opera Company and the Pittsburgh Festival Opera.

"Like so many young people in the area, I was first introduced to live theaterthrough First Stage. To be able to now lead the organization is incredibly special for me,” saidGrambow in a statement released by the theater company.

He is a 2007 Nicolet High School graduate. Grambow also played in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

At First Stage, Grambow will team up with artistic director Jeff Frank, who has worked for the company for nearly 28 years.

First Stage's current show is "Dream, Quickie, Dream!," a world-premiere production adapted from former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver's children books. It continues through Oct. 29.
