Take a First Look at Oscilloscope Laboratories’ Relaunched ‘Everything Is Stories’ Podcast
Oscilloscope Laboratories has launched its first-ever podcast by bringing back fan favorite series “Everything Is Stories” on a new platform.
IndieWire can exclusively announce that the beloved podcast co-created by Mike Martinez and Tyler Wray has found a new home at Oscilloscope. Season 4 of “Everything Is Stories” marks a “rebirth and continuation” of the series, with Oscilloscope revisiting and re-editing the three previous seasons ahead of an all-new 10-episode fourth season premiere.

The revamped past three seasons of “Everything Is Stories” are being released in weekly episode installments starting September 26. The new fourth season will premiere December 19 with bi-weekly new episodes.
“Everything Is Stories” is an ongoing audio survey of individuals whose lives have taken unexpected paths that have led them toward some deeper understanding of the world. Per the official synopsis, these are tales of the underdog, the outlaw, and the outcast — stories of genuine characters of all kinds. The podcast explores unconventional narratives of the past and present to preserve the eccentric, the authentic, and the personal.
“Much gratitude to the Oscilloscope team for breathing new life into ‘Everything Is Stories’ and pulling the podcast out of hibernation,” co-creators Martinez and Wray said in a statement. “We are thrilled for this partnership and to work with the O-Scope team again. This upcoming season will feature some of our most captivating and challenging work to date. Take a listen, you may find a new definition of reality’s highs and lows.”
New episodes include stories from people such as former mortician Lonewolf Smith, who discusses his expertise embalming the dead and a controversial burial that posed a personal moral dilemma; Roddy Pippin, one of Texas’s most notorious cattle rustlers, speaking of his love for the ways of the Old West and the precarious choices that ultimately led to his sentencing; migrant rights activist Dora Rodriguez recounts her childhood and her dire journey through the unforgiving Sonoran Desert after the Salvadoran war; and Kim-Dadou Brown, who will discuss the complex decision women often make to stay with repeat domestic abusers and the circumstances surrounding her prison sentence as a result of the death of her former boyfriend.
“Everything Is Stories” is created and produced by Martinez and Wray, with additional production and story editing by Grace Heerman. Sound design is by George Drake Jr., and each episode features original music composed by Mike Etten.
