GREEN BAY - The first of four igNight Markets in the Broadway District this season kicks off Saturday with a pair of special attractions: a lighted boat parade and a silent disco.

If you're planning to head down for some viewing, dancing, shopping or eating, here's a quick rundown.

When and where is it?

The igNight Market runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday outside the Neville Public Museum, 210 Museum Place, downtown Green Bay.

What time is the lighted boat parade?

The Light Up the Fox Boat Parade will feature 40 to 50 boats from the Green Bay Yachting Club and South Bay Marina decked out in lights as they cruise the Fox River at dark, about 8:30 or 9 p.m. They'll travel south from the mouth of the Fox and through the Ray Nitschke Memorial and Bart Starr Memorial bridges and then turn around at Mason Street and complete the loop. The bridge lights will be done in a rainbow of colors to add to the atmosphere.

Visitors to the igNight Market on Saturday outside the Neville Public Museum will be able to dance among the "BLOW UP II: Contemporary Inflatable Art" exhibit inside for a silent disco.

What's a silent disco and how does it work?

It's a chance to dance with others and show off your moves, but the music can only be heard by wearing wireless headphones. No speaker system exists.

The Howe Community Resource Center will host the disco on the second level of the Neville Public Museum, where the traveling "BLOW UP II: Contemporary Inflatable Art" exhibit is on display. Dancers will be able to get down while viewing giant colorful pieces of art, including a pair of groovy pink flamingos.

Headphones with preset music channels will be provided. Simply put them on, pick your music and cut loose.

"You could be listening to a country station, the person next to you could be listening to a rock station, the other one could be listening to R&B, and then you guys are all dancing to your own music," said Amanda Johnson, executive director of Howe Community Resource Center. "If someone doesn't have a headset on, it's completely silent and all they see is people dancing. It's really unique."

She learned about silent discos while at a resort in Cancun, Mexico, and thought it would be fun to bring one to Green Bay. Howe Community Resource Center had originally planned to do it as a fundraiser in January, but it was postponed due to COVID-19 numbers.

Admission is free, but there will also be a suggested donation at the doors. Any donations will be divided between Howe Community Resource Center, On Broadway Inc. and the Neville.

What else will be happening at the market?

Look for all kinds of artisan vendors, aerial dancing, food trucks and craft beers at the open-air market. Jake'O, the singer-songwriter who competed on NBC's "American Song Contest" last year, will headline the music stage. The People Brothers Band, a rhythm and soul group from Madison, plays the middle slot, and Morgan Piontek opens.

When is the next igNight Market?

It'll be 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 19 at Leicht Memorial Park. There will be a balloon glow featuring 10 or more hot-air balloons from 8 to 9 p.m. Minneapolis hip-hop artist Nur-D is the headline music act, with opening sets by Wave Magnetik & Rowanne and Green Bay's own 7000apart.
