First ever “Hallmark Christmas Experience” to take place at Crown Center in November

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Christmas comes early for Hallmark movie lovers, as Hallmark and Crown Center announce the first ever “Hallmark Christmas Experience” in Kansas City. Ticket packages are now on sale.

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas. Some of the events will be free, other parts you’ll have to pay to experience.

Event Organizers are expecting to see 80,000-100,000 people during the 4-week Hallmark Christmas Experience.

The Crown Center Square will transform into a winter wonderland, like you’re stepping into a Hallmark movie, right outside Hallmark’s Headquarters.

Senior Vice President Lindsey Roy said there will be a light walk, ice skating, food, drinks and a Christmas Marketplace – where people can buy presents.

You don’t need a ticket to get inside the square outside, it’s free.

“It’ll be things that people are familiar with, from Hallmark,” Crown Center President Stacey Paine said. “We’ll be talking about ornaments and cards, but also bringing movies and all the parts of Hallmark in one place, is going to be the first-time people can do that in one place. So, we want people to feel like they’re in the middle of Hallmark.”

Then, inside the Westin Hotel at Crown Center they’re offering signature ticketed events. You could meet some 37 Hallmark stars as we Countdown to Christmas.

“So, these events will be behind the scenes screenings,” Roy said. “There’s an event we’re calling “Reindeer Games”, where you can watch these stars have fun and compete in game shows, there’s a package that has an option where you can get a photo opp., all kinds of fun like that.”

Paine knows the Mayor’s Christmas tree is a staple at Crown Center. She said the experience will be enhanced this year.

“We are used to lighting the Christmas tree together the day after Thanksgiving,” Paine said. “There’s going to be tree lightings every night on the weekends.”

Ticket packages are on sale now. Working for You, they’re going for about $260-$700.

“They’re already selling very fast,” Roy said. “We expect some of the packages to even sell out today.”

The immersive experience starts November 29 and will run weekends through Christmas.

Individual tickets for events inside go on sale this summer. Roy said those will cost between $5-$99.

“Another surprise, we actually are doing a live premiere of one of the movies at our event,” Roy said. “Plus, telling the behind-the-scenes stories, which being the first ever event, we haven’t done that before. So, our stars are super excited.”
