Chris Hemsworth’s journey into the world of ‘80s comedy reboots continued on Monday, when the Vacation star was spotted on the set of director Paul Feig’s upcoming lady-centric reimagining of Ghostbusters in Boston. The 32-year-old actor plays the secretary to the new crew of paranormal combatants, a role that was originated in 1984′s Ghostbusters by Annie Potts.
Feig’s Ghostbusters features Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Obviously, the crew be the main action heroes of this new iteration of Ghostbusters, but from the photo above, it seems that Hemsworth will also get into the middle of the excitement. Hard to say what technology is attached to his motorbike, but the bet here is that they’re some kind of experimental inventions developed to fight visitors from the spirit world.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Hemsworth — who most people know as the very burly Thor — geeking it up this year. Though few people saw it, Hemsworth played a hacker in Blackhat, the Michael Mann thriller that tanked in January. Chances are, Ghostbusters will do considerably better.
