The First BTS Photos Of ‘White Lotus’ Season 3 Are Here

Including a shirtless Patrick Schwarzenegger and a surprise Iris Apatow sighting.

It’s almost time to book another stay at the White Lotus. This season’s group of guests will be traveling to Thailand to explore “death in Eastern religion and spirituality,” per Mike White, the creator and director of the popular HBO Max series – and some cast members are giving fans a sneak peek at what that might look like. On Saturday, April 6, actor Sam Nivola shared an Instagram carousel that appeared to feature five black-and-white behind the scenes photos from filming White Lotus Season 3.

Patrick Schwarzenegger and Iris Apatow can be seen hanging out on a boat in the candid first photo. Meanwhile, Sarah Catherine Hook joins the group in the next few photos that look like they’re taken from inside the boat. The last few photos show the group taking selfies on a beach in Thailand and Schwarzenegger posing by himself against the backdrop of the water.

“The pookinator is looking absolutely FIRE tonight,” Nivola captioned the post, which he tagged the White Lotus Instagram account in.

The impromptu White Lotus preview comes shortly after filming for the highly-anticipated third chapter began in February. According to Deadline, the show will be filming in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, and it’s rumored that this season’s group of guests will be checking into the Four Seasons Koh Samui.

Nivola’s post hints that the group will be spending some time together on a boat while sailing around the islands. Like with other White Lotus seasons, the showrunners have stayed mum on which characters the cast will be playing, but Deadline previously reported that the group will include "a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, including a country club wife, a misfit, and a yogi.”

Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Schwarzenegger, Hook, and Nivola were recently added to the cast. Other stars that are slated to appear include White Lotus Season 1 star Natasha Rothwell as well as newcomers Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monoghan, Jason Isacs, Miloš Biković, Carrie Coon, Christian Friedel, Dom Hetrakul, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong. It has not yet been confirmed whether Iris Apatow is officially part of this season’s cast.

While the White Lotus Season 3 was originally set to be released in 2024, it’s now looking at a potential 2025 date due to delays from the strikes. However, it sounds like the wait will be worth it.

“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,” White told EW in a November 2023 interview. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier.”
