#FireTuckerCarlson trends after the host seemingly defends 17-year-old charged in Kenosha shooting

Tucker Carlson opened his show Wednesday night with scenes from the ongoing unrest in Kenosha, Wis., following the police shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake, on Sunday. Following Tuesday night’s protests, during which three people were shot, two of them fatally, a 17-year-old from Illinois, Kyle Rittenhouse, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with homicide. Carlson became the target of hundreds of thousands on Twitter shortly after this segment aired, not only for appearing to shift blame to the authorities, but also for defending the actions of Rittenhouse. It didn’t take long for #FireTuckerCarlson to begin trending.
