‘Fire Country’ Adds Tye White & Jason O’Mara As Recurring In Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: Tye White (American Auto) and Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle) are set for key recurring roles on the upcoming second season of CBS drama series Fire Country.

The drama stars Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son – until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire.

White will play Cole, an MMA fighter meets family man, now a prison inmate and Bode’s cellmate. Cole has made some mistakes of his own in the past and has learned from them, becoming a better man.

O’Mara will portray Liam, a hunky firefighter with a relaxed confidence. Liam is a former colleague of Sharon’s (Diane Farr) who runs into Sharon and Vince (Billy Burke) and is very glad to see her.

The series, from Jerry Bruckheimer Television and CBS Studios, is inspired by Thieriot’s experiences growing up in fire country and stems from an original idea by the actor, who also co-penned the story for the pilot with its writers, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. All three executive produce.

Fire Country will premiere its second season on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 at 9/8c.

White recently starred on NBC’s American Auto for two seasons, and also recurred on Chicago Fire, NCIS: Los Angeles, American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson and starred on the OWN series Greenleaf for three seasons. He is repped by Pantheon Management Partners and Gilbertson Entertainment.

O’Mara can currently be seen in season 3 of Kate O’Riordan’s Irish thriller-drama Smother, for which he was nominated at this year’s IFTAs for Best Lead Actor in a Drama, and in the independent feature Your Lucky Day. He was most recently seen starring as Wyatt Price on Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, as well as Apple’s Truth Be Told, Departure and Netflix feature Hypnotic. He’s repped by Independent Talent Group in London, UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
