As early voting begins across the United States, Fiona Apple has shared her own encouragement to go vote with a winking endorsement for Joe Biden. In a video posted by her close friend Zelda Hallman on Instagram, Apple sings George and Ira Gershwin’s “Bidin’ My Time,” from their 1930 musical Girl Crazy, and flashes her “I Voted” sticker. Watch it below.

Apple has supported numerous progressive causes this year, such as narrating a video about how to document immigration arrests. She’s channeled royalties from her Fetch the Bolt Cutters tracks “Shameika” and “Heavy Balloon” to nonprofit efforts, which she did last year with the royalties for “Criminal.” She discussed Indigenous land acknowledgement in an interview with Democracy Now! in April and followed that by supporting a campaign to aid Indigenous communities affected by COVID-19.
