Fiona Apple Releasing New Album Fetch the Bolt Cutters This Month
Fiona Apple has announced the release date of her first album in eight years. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is getting a digital release on April 17. She announced the release date in the video below, which was shared via the Fiona Apple Rocks Tumblr page. That account often posts personal video messages from Apple (including a recent one where she hinted that she was thinking about releasing the album “really soon”). (Apple’s representative confirmed the release date.)
The album marks her first full-length release since 2012’s The Idler Wheel..., which itself was her first album in seven years. She recently revealed a bunch of titles from the new album in an interview where she discussed its creation.
Apple has been teasing new music for the past year. Her 1996 debut album Tidal was released on vinyl for the first time in 2017. That same year Apple performed at Trans-Pecos Festival, where she dueted with St. Vincent on two songs.
Recently, Apple has shared a lullaby, donated two years of royalties from her hit single “Criminal” to refugees (including the royalties she got from Hustlers), contributed a song to Bob’s Burgers, and more.
