The Final Season Of 'Game Of Thrones' Has Already Won 10 Emmys

A Lackluster Final Season

There was no way that it was going to please everyone, but the final season of the beloved HBO series Game of Thrones proved to be a bit of a disappointment. A messy narrative, sidelined characters, and a ridiculous ending frustrated many fans who had dedicated years of their lives to this fandom.

A Slew Of Emmy Nominations... And A Few Wins Already

Despite the fan reaction, the epic series managed to earn 32 Primetime Emmy nominations, including seven across the acting categories. This whopping number broke the record for single year nominations for a drama or comedy, proving that Thrones is not going to exit quietly.

Going Out With A Bang

Game of Thrones already won 10 of its categories in the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony this past weekend, taking home trophies for editing, visual effects, makeup, costumes, stunt coordination, title design, music composition, casting, and sound mixing.

The main ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 22, so we'll see how the final game plays out then.
