Filmmaker Peyton Reed on the status of “Ant-Man 3’

Peyton Reed, who directed 2015’s “Ant-Man” and 2018’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” will direct a third “Ant-Man” movie. Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Evangeline Lily (Wasp) will also return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yahoo Entertainment caught up with Reed to discuss Evangeline’s superhero role in the upcoming film. “They’re a partnership and she’s a very important part of that,” he says. “Technically we were the first Marvel movie with a female hero in the title.” In terms of script and story, Reed says: “Nothing is official yet but we’re quietly working.” No release details have been confirmed, but the plan is to shoot the pic at the end of 2020 or top of 2021 for a likely release in 2022.
