Fil Fil Mediterranean restaurant to open second location in downtown Milwaukee

A Mediterranean restaurant plans to open its second downtown Milwaukee location.

Fil Fil is a fast-casual restaurant serving Mediterranean-inspired rice bowls, sandwiches, salads and soups. The restaurant plans to open at 1125 N. 9th St. at The Restaurants at Eleven25 food court Nov. 1, according to its restaurant license application.

Fil Fil's owner, Fady Qetairi, opened Fil Fil's first location at 700 W. Wisconsin Ave. in March.

As part of the food court, which is in the Eleven25 student housing development, Fil Fil will operate as a counter-serve with seating in the main dining area. The proposed hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday, with the restaurant closed Sundays.

The menu at the new location will be the same as the the Wisconsin Avenue location, serving bowls such as chicken shawarma over rice, chicken or steak philly sandwiches and fattoush salad. It'll also serve coffee during the early operation hours.

Eleven25 at Pabst has apartments above and counter-service restaurants open to the public on the first floor. It's in a Cream City building on N. Ninth St. that was part of the Pabst brewing complex.
