We have the first official trailer for Fighter, the Airborn drama starring a trio of India’s biggest names, Deepika Padukone (XXX – Return of Xander Cage, Pathaan), Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire), and Hrithik Roshan (Jodhaa Akbar).

The pic is directed by Siddharth Anand (Pathaan). The synopsis reads: Militant activities are going out of control in the Srinagar Valley, so a new and elite unit, Air Dragons, is commissioned by the Air Headquarters. They are now the first responders to any hostile activity. They comprise the best combat aviators handpicked from across the IAF. Fighter is the story of Air Dragons who are willing to give it their all for the nation while going through the highs and lows of their internal and external battles.

Fighter comes from Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures. Neeraj Goswamy of Viacom18 is handling sales and distribution. The producers are Mamta Anand, Ramon Chibb, Anku Pande, Kevin Vaz, and Ajit Andhare. The screenplay is by Ramon Chibb from a story by Siddharth Anand and Ramon Chibb. Rounding out the main cast are Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi. The film’s subject matter has been compared to the Tom Cruise-led Top Gun series and the Fighter trailer echos some of the most famous scenes from Top Gun, including a series of sun-filled, slow-motion walking scenes on the fighter jet runway. Fighter is set for a January 25 theatrical release, including IMAX presentations.

Director Anand is best known for Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which became the highest-grossing Hindi-language film of all time grossing, $128.8M worldwide. Anand also directed the 2019 blockbuster War, starring Hrithik Roshan, which is also part of the YRF Spy Universe.
