Meghan Trainor is Billboard Women In Music’s ‘Chart Topper’ of the year, but sadly the Thank You singer had to sit out Friday’s (Dec. 9) ceremony after doctors put her on vocal rest, forcing her to cancel her performance at Billboard Women In Music and several iHeartRadio Jingle Ball events around the country.

Enter Fifth Harmony. The 2015 Billboard Women In Music Group of the Year made a surprise appearance at the 2016 edition of the event — airing on Lifetime Dec. 12 — to pay tribute to Trainor with a chill-inducing cover of “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.” With just an acoustic guitar backing them, the quintet had the packed room hushed and hanging on every note of the Trainor cover. “Thank for being an inspiration to us all,” 5H’s Dinah Jane Hansen said after the performance. “We love you.”

In lieu of attending, Trainor sent in a silent video message (she used cue cards) thanking Billboard for the honor and saluting Fifth Harmony. Trainor is one of several 2016 Women in Music honorees, headlined by “Woman of the Year” recipient Madonna and “Icon” Shania Twain. Also honored this year are Halsey (“Rising Star”), Andra Day (“Powerhouse”), Maren Morris (“Breakthrough Star”), Kesha (“Trailblazer”) and Alessia Cara (“Rule Breaker”).
