FHP troopers seeking help from public to find a vehicle that hit and killed a woman
Florida Highway Patrol investigators are trying to find a vehicle that they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman walking along a roadway in Levy County on Friday.
Troopers said the 41-year-old Morriston woman was walking with a white bicycle southbound on County Road 337 when a vehicle hit her.
Authorities said the vehicle left the scene, leaving the woman behind. She died from her injuries. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. at CR 337 and Southeast 59th Place.
Law enforcement officials believe the vehicle that struck the woman was a Ford Ranger, between the years 2006 to 2011. They think the vehicle is a four-wheel drive or has some type of elevation. Troopers did recover vehicle parts at the scene.
Officials are asking anyone who knows the vehicle or saw the crash to contact Cpl. James Lander at jameslander@flhsmv.gov, Crime Stoppers at 368-STOP, or www.crimestoppers.com.
