FHP: Man dies after rear-ending tractor-trailer on I-10 in Santa Rosa County

A man was killed after rear-ending a tractor-trailer early Friday morning on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At about 1:49 a.m., the driver, a 24-year-old Crestview man, was traveling eastbound on I-10 near mile marker 33 in a white Nissan 350Z. At the same time, a tractor-trailer driven by a 59-year-old Miramar man was also traveling eastbound on I-10 in front of the Nissan.

According to FHP, the driver of the Nissan failed to follow it a distance that was reasonable and prudent, resulting in the front bumper portion of the car colliding with the rear of the semi-trailer.

The Crestview man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
