Will Ferrell took family weekend at his alma mater to another level.

On Saturday, the actor and comedian, 56, was the DJ at a Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity tailgate party at the University of Southern California ahead of the football game against the University of Arizona Wildcats during Trojan Family Weekend.

In a TikTok video, the USC alum could be seen clapping alongside students to Survivor's “Eye of the Tiger” as he helmed the DJ booth. Ferrell was certainly dressed for the occasion, with his headphones worn on top of his backward USC red cap.

The Barbie actor has been an active USC alum since he graduated from the school in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in sports information. He delivered the commencement speech to the graduating class of 2017 and contributed to funding the first-ever full scholarship for the women’s soccer team with wife Viveca Paulin in 2018.

And it looks like Trojan blood runs in the family, as Ferrell and Paulin’s eldest child, son Magnus, 19, is currently enrolled at USC as a sophomore, according to his LinkedIn page.

Along with Magnus, the Saturday Night Live alum also shares sons Mattias, 16, and Axel, 13, with Paulin, 54.

Back in 2008, the Anchorman star shared his biggest piece of advice for any parent. "For me, talk to your children, at least once a week," he hilariously told PEOPLE at the time.

"If you've got time, do it two or three times a week, but otherwise, I find the times where I let weeks and weeks go by without talking to my children, that adds up," he joked.

In 2017, Ferrell also opened up about what it was like raising three boys, telling PEOPLE, "There is usually a high volume in the house. Whether they're having a great time or whether they're losing their minds, they are always yelling."

Although Magnus is pursuing a career in the music industry, Ferrell did reveal in a 2018 interview with Parade that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to his affinity for comedy.

"Last year, for his yearbook photo, he borrowed another kid's glasses. He doesn't wear glasses. There he is with this very serious look with glasses on," Ferrell said of Magnus' prank.

He recalled, “‘Like 'Magnus, that is so subversive and funny. Totally my sense of humor.’ He's like, 'Am I in trouble?' Like, 'No, you've got to do it every year! Fantastic!'"
