Felicity Jones Reportedly Pregnant With First Child
Felicity Jones, star of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is pregnant. The actress's reps confirmed to multiple outlets that she and her husband Charles Guard are expecting their first child. The two wed in the summer of 2018.
The pair have a very private relationship, so the fact that no official announcement has come from them is not an enormous surprise. They may never make such an announcement. A director, Guard, who is 43, has helmed movies like "The Uninvited" and "Round About Five.
The two got engaged in May of 2017 before marrying in Sudeley Castle in Costwolds, Oxfordshire in England in June of the following year. Jones and Guard had dated for two years prior to getting engaged.
Jones has spoken about her fondness for love stories before, both in real live and in her acting work. "I am definitely a romantic and I love romantic stories — that’s why I keep making romantic movies,” she told The Telegraph in December of 2014.
She also remarked about the eternal relevance of love as a storytelling mechanism. "It’s funny how seeing a love story never gets boring because it’s the dream isn’t it?" the actress said. "It’s the dream to have a true connection with another human being."
Now, it seems, Jones has exactly that with her husband. They're starting their own family, which is always a thrilling proposition. Prior to the official announcement of Jones's pregnancy, some fans already suspected that the actress was expecting.
Rumors started swirling when Jones showed up to the New York premiere of her film "The Aeronauts" sporting what appeared to be a very tiny baby bump. "The Aeronauts," which stars Jones and her "Theory of Everything" co-star Eddie Redmayne has two people who mount a balloon expedition, is just now beginning to premiere around the world.
For Jones, this pregnancy seems like perfect timing. Now that she's almost done promoting her most recent project, she can take some time off to prepare for motherhood.
Earlier this year, Jones was focused on promoting another recent film, "On the Basis of Sex." In that film, Jones played Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. At the time, she told Us Magazine that she was "insanely nervous" to meet the woman she played.
"I felt like I wanted to curtsy," she said. "Ruth was incredibly welcoming. We went to her office first and it felt like a very warm environment – covered in photographs of friends and family and all sorts of mementos that had been sent to her by her fans."
