CLEVELAND (WJW) – Ozzy Osbourne took to social media to thank his fans and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his 2024 induction as a solo artist.

“Thank You Rock Hall voters and fans for this induction. My solo career has been a much larger part of my overall music career as a whole, so this feels more special,” he said in a caption on Instagram on April 22.

Osbourne was first inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath.

“Not bad for a guy who was fired from his last band,” Osbourne continued on Instagram.

Osbourne’s wife Sharon told PEOPLE that it’s an honor for him “to be in a small group of people who have been inducted twice.”

“For him to get in as a solo artist will be a huge achievement for him and one that he really does deserve,” Sharon told PEOPLE.

She told PEOPLE she and the family had “everything crossed. Fingers crossed, legs crossed, everything” hoping to hear the news that Ozzy was being inducted as a solo artist in 2024.

The 2024 inductees in the performer category include:

  • Mary J. Blige

  • Cher

  • Dave Matthews Band

  • Foreigner

  • Peter Frampton

  • Kool & The Gang

  • Ozzy Osbourne
