Violent clashes between protesters and federal officers continued in Portland, Oregon, in the early hours of July 24.
Footage shows a group of officers pinning a demonstrator on the ground, taking away his American flag and a leaf blower, which protesters have been using to diffuse tear gas, according to reports. Another video of the event shows a line of officers approaching the man before tackling him.
By around 2 am on July 24, police said the protest outside the federal courthouse was deemed an “unlawful assembly” and warned that police could use tear gas or impact weapons if crowds failed to disperse. Credit: @ryanmalia via Storyful
