February 2024 in Ashland County - here's what's going on in the area

New month, new events. There are some exciting things going in February for Ashland County residents.

Bingo at American Legion Post 88: Weekly bingo continues at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Mid-Winter Stamp & Coin Show: The one-day event will take place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Ashland County Fairground, Mozelle Hall, 2042 Claremont Ave, Ashland. Dealers will have tables to buy, sell and trade stamps, coins and postcards. Admission and parking are free.

Ashland Business and Professional Women Monthly Meeting: 6 p.m. Monday, at the Inn at Ashland Woods, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland. The speaker will be from the Area Agency on Aging and the topic is the services the agency offers. Cost for dinner is $12 and reservations can be made to AshlandBPW@gmail.com or by calling 419-368-4402.

Trivia Night at Ohio Fire: 6 p.m. Sunday; trivia night will be with the Ashland Historical Society. Ohio Fire is located at 88 E. Main St., Ashland.

Galentine Shop Hop: Presented by Ashland Main Street, the Galentine Shop Hop will take place Feb. 8. Participating stores will be open until 8 p.m. and have specials and activities. Along with the shop hop, it is a DORA Day, which allows shoppers to enjoy shopping with a drink in their hand.

Ashland County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner: Hosted by the Ashland County Republican Party, the annual Lincoln day Dinner will be held on Feb. 8 at the Mount Vernon Estate Event Center, 1041 US 250, Ashland. U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno will be the speaker. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will start at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 419-281-9468.

Coffee with a Cop: Goldberry Roasting Co. 7:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 9. All are welcome to discuss community issues, build relationships and enjoy a free cup of coffee.

Ashland County Fairground's Flea Market and Craft Fair: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds' Mozelle Hall, 2042 Claremont Ave, Ashland. Free admission.

2024 Valentine's Art Program with Rapunzel and Belle: Presented by the Tin Can Chandelier, the event is for Ashland County's princes and princesses and will be Feb. 10. All children registered for the event will receive a Valentine signed by Disney princess, Belle and Rapunzel. It will be held at the Tin Can Chandelier, 1258 Franklin Ave., Ashland, and is $35 per child. To register, click here.

Sixteen Candles 40th Anniversary & Trivia at Joan's Tavern: Celebrating one of the biggest cult classics, Joan Taverns is sponsoring a Sixteen Candles 40th Anniversary & Trivia event. Taking place on Feb. 10, the event will be at the Ashland Theatre starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $6 to $8 and can be purchased here.

Sweetheart Weekend at Pleasant Hill Lake Park: Taking place at Plesant Hill Lake Park, 3431 Start Route 95, Perrysville from 12 to 6:30, this event will involve a winter hike with bird watching as we llas date night canvas painting. Access - 15th Annual Love Your Neighbor Fundraising Dinner: Presented by Access, This event will take place at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Mt. Vernon Estates, 1041 US. 250, Ashland. Evan Craft, a Christian recording artist, will be the featured special guest speaker. Tickets are available here.

Brie Mine Charcuterie 101: Taking place at the Twisted Ivy on Feb. 15 at 6 p.m., This class is all about how to make the perfect charcuterie. All materials and instructions will be available as well as a glass of wine on Twisted Ivy and 10% off all purchases that night. Spots are limited for the event. Improv: Scriptless in Seattle: Being held on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. over at the Ashland Theatre, this event features a hilarious night of improve comedy with the presentation of Scriptless in Seattle. To get tickets, click here.

Ashland University Cheer and Dance Competition: Starting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 18, the Ashland University Cheer and Dance Competition will take place on AU's campus, 829 Claremont Ave, Ashland. The 6th annual event will have various cheer divisions, including Game Day Building, Game day Non-Building, Building, Non-Building, Non-Tumbling/Non-Building. For dance divisions, they are Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Kick, and Game Day.

Fish Fry at American Legion Post 88: Starting at 5 p.m., the American Legion Post 88 will be having a fish fry. The address is 1338 Claremont Ave., Ashland. The cost is $11 for adults.
