‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Preview: Is Jeremiah Otto About to Lose His Ranch Community?

Madison is working overtime to ingratiate her family to the residents of Jeremiah Otto’s ranch — including unstable Otto son Troy — but in the clip above, from Sunday’s new episode of Fear the Walking Dead, much, much more pressing concerns may prove her efforts have been for naught.

Last week, while on a research mission with Troy and his militia men, Madison and the gang learned who had shot Travis, leading him to take a fatal dive out of the helicopter he was riding in to spare the lives of the rest of the copter riders if he died and turned into the undead.

The culprit: Walker, a local Native American leader who’s been in a long-running land dispute with the Ottos. After their run-in with Walker last week — a meetup that not everyone survived — Madison, Troy, and the other Broke Jaw Ranch dwellers come stumbling, literally, home to share the news that Walker has set some new rules in the property war.

Pre-apocalypse, the law was on Jeremiah’s side and declared the ranch his. But that construct of an intact civilization no longer applies, and Walker has made it clear: He wants the Ottos and their cohorts off what he considers to be his land.

And he’s willing to make them move… or kill them. Their choice, up to an increasingly shorter point.

Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
