Set in the year 1666, while gathering potent berries for a celebration one evening with her friends Hannah Miller and Lizzie, Sarah meets a reclusive widow and discovers a book of black magic. The town’s food and water supplies are contaminated the following day, which causes Pastor Cyrus Miller to start acting strangely. Later, the town learns that Pastor Miller killed twelve kids in the chapel.

The Pastor then attacks Sarah, before Solomon kills him. Later that night, a town meeting is held wherein people come to the conclusion that witchcraft is the cause of the mysterious events and hold Sarah and Hannah accountable for it. Sarah manages to flee, but Hannah is apprehended. The town then announces that Hannah will be put to death.

In order to save Hannah, Sarah decides to retrieve the widow’s book to use it to make a deal with the devil, but she learns that the widow has been killed and the book has vanished. Subsequently, she decides to sneak into Solomon’s house to hide and discovers a tunnel under it. As she navigates the tunnel, she makes a shocking discovery and a fight ensues, which results in Sarah’s hand being mutilated.

The film is directed by Leigh Janiak, who co-wrote the screenplay with Phil Graziadei and Kate Trefry. The main cast includes Kiana Madeira as Sarah Fier, Ashley Zukerman as Solomon Goode, and many others.
