Fayetteville lottery winner— Yadkin Road scratch-off hits the jackpot

Who won: James Lind of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

The size of the prize: $1 million. Lind chose to receive a lump sum of $600,000 when he appeared at lottery headquarters on Monday. After taxes, he took home $427,509.

Where the ticket was purchased: Lind purchased the $30 Millionaire Maker scratch-off ticket from the Circle K on Yadkin Road in Fayetteville, the N.C. Education Lottery said in a news release.

More about the game: The ticket launched in March 2021. The overall odds of winning are about 1 in 3, but to win the top prize of $1 million, the odds are 1 in 359,698. There were 15 remaining prizes of $1 million as of Monday.
