I have a strict no-shoe household, and I’ve never been a fan of socks. If I’m indoors, I’m barefoot. However, I recently visited family in England and brought slippers to traipse around their old country house on a cold, rainy day — everyone else wears them, so I figured, why not? I purchased a faux fur pair from Amazon for less than $20, and you know what? Now I’m in love.
The DAISY’S FINDINGS Fuzzy Slide Slippers are comfy, perfectly warm and have enough traction on the bottom that if I wanted to, I could step outside to grab the mail and be totally comfortable. So yes, I’ve adopted slippers into my life — or, as I like to call them, house shoes. House shoes sound so much fancier.
These house shoes slide on and have two straps that go over the top of your feet, leaving your toes to hang out like a pair of sandals. As a reformed barefoot girl, I like that my toes are out. They’re still warm, but they don’t make my feet feel sweaty. The faux fur is also extremely soft, and it looks like the real deal.
The slippers also come in black, taupe or white, and no matter which color you wear, they look so much more expensive than they are. Noting that they’re regularly $21.95, but they’re currently on sale for only $17.56 in all three colors. I got the taupe, but at that price, I’m contemplating getting a second pair in black.
Now, there aren’t a lot of Amazon reviews, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. It seems some Amazon shoppers don’t like how stiff the footbed is, but to me, that makes them feel more like real shoes, not slippers. It’s not uncomfortable, but your foot isn’t going to sink into them like an extra squishy slipper.
If you’re looking to adopt house shoes in your life, this under-$20 pair from Amazon is a great start. They’ll look great with your favorite sweats or pretty much any outfit you wear at home.
