Father's Day 2023: Pensacola brunch and dinner spots with special dinners for dad
Father’s Day is right around the corner, and Pensacola’s growing restaurant scene has plenty of opportunities to help you celebrate.
In addition to Pensacola's usual stellar Sunday brunch fare, there will be a few specials to help celebrate dad on his special day.
Here are a few restaurants worth checking out:
Hot Spot Barbecue
Address: 901 E. La Rua St.
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Details: Hot Spot Barbecue has been serving authentic Southern barbecue in Pensacola for 10 years. To say thank you and celebrate, Hot Spot will be open on Father’s Day with a limited menu. All Fathers can eat half price, and everyone can register for prize giveaways.
Red Fish Blue Fish Pensacola Beach
Address: 5 Via de Luna Dr.
Time: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Details: If dad is looking for something beachy, Red Fish Blue Fish, a casual eatery overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound, may do the trick. In addition to the fresh, never frozen menu items like the chargrilled oysters, fish tacos and sweet tea brined pork chop, the restaurant will be featuring a special grilled angus ribeye topped with sautéed lump crab meat served over boursin mashed potatoes and a side of grilled asparagus. This special is subject to change based on availability.
Water Pig BBQ
Address: 5 Via de Luna Dr.
Time: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Details: Water Pig BBQ, a beachfront barbecue restaurant specializing in 12-hour smoked bacon, house rubs and homemade sauces, will be welcoming families with a Father's Day house special. This one-day-only dish will be a smoked prime rib over garlic thyme mashed potatoes with a side of tricolored glazed carrots. However, you'll want to get there early, this special is subject to change based on availability.
The Pointe
Address: 1255 Country Club Road, Gulf Breeze
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Details: Led by The Pointe's Executive Chef Ed Lordman, The Pointe has become a dining destination. The Pointe is welcoming families to come and celebrate dad with an old-fashioned brunch buffet accompanied by an optional $20 bourbon pairing including four tasting pours. The buffet price is a flat-rate of $35 per adult, $18 per child and free for children under 3.
The Grand Marlin
Address: 400 Pensacola Beach Blvd.
Time: Brunch: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dinner: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Details: The Grand Marlin is known for its high-quality fresh catch and picturesque views. For Father’s Day, it will be offering two special features, one for brunch and one for dinner. The brunch special will include corned beef hash and eggs, made with two over-easy eggs, house-made corned beef, fingerling potatoes and creamy horseradish sauce. The dinner special will be a crispy pork shank made with garlic and herb rice grits and a roasted tomato demi.
The Fish House
Address: 600 S. Barracks St.
Time: Brunch: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dinner: 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Details: The Fish House, a Pensacola favorite for over two decades, will have all its menu staples for brunch and dinner service in addition to a few fun favorites that chef Jason Hughes is whipping up. The brunch feature you don’t want to miss is the Duck and Waffles, featuring a buttermilk-fried confit duck leg with aged cheddar-cornmeal waffles, topped with bourbon-cans syrup glaze and served with crispy applewood smoked bacon. For dinnertime, Hughes has a special Swordfish au Poivre featuring cracked pepper-crusted Gulf swordfish filet served with smoked Gouda potatoes au gratin, lemon-garlic sautéed spinach and charred tomato, topped with a whole grain mustard brandy cream.

Details: In addition to expert Pensacola chef Irv Miller’s regular delights, he will be offering features for brunch and dinner service. For brunch, Miller will be offering a cumin-rubbed and roasted pork loin benedict, soft-poached eggs, hatch green chili hollandaise sauce, sweet corn and black bean pico de gallo.
For dinner, Miller will be whipping up a black pepper-crusted petite filet with wild mushroom and Parmesan Reggiano risotto and hickory-wood grilled asparagus.

Five Sisters Blues Café

Time: Sunday Jazz Brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Reservations: Walk-in service only.
Details: Five Sisters Blues Cafe is built on some of Pensacola's deepest roots, and the food reflects the neighborhood's soul. In addition to the old Southern favorites, chef John Huggins will be offering "A Taste of BBQ” menu including spareribs, pulled pork and smoked chicken and sausage, served with Memphis slaw, brisket elote and barbecue sauces.

Details: Award-winning chef James Briscione never fails to impress with his handmade Italian cuisine. In addition to the regular favorites, Briscione will offer a slow-roasted Italian beef sandwich special served on a garlic bread bun with provolone cheese and pickled peppers.
