Maluma Drops ‘Hawai’-Inspired Clothing Collection for Summer

Maluma wants his fans to feel like royalty, and the Latin superstar is helping them do just that with his Summer 2022 Royalty by Maluma collection, in collaboration with Macy’s and Reunited Clothing.

Available now at Macys.com, Maluma’s latest clothing collection showcases his distinct sense of style with colorful prints of beach scenes, waves, and palm trees as a nod to his hit song “Hawai.” Standout pieces in the extensive collection include an ombré utility vest, a printed vacation shirt, and Hawaiian-print swimwear.

“I truly can’t wait for my fans, fashion lovers, and the customers at Macy’s to see this collection that makes you want to go on vacation by wearing the pieces,” says Maluma, in a press release. “This is my first time ever designing a summer collection and for me, it was special because I had the opportunity to design bathing suits for women; an experience that was completely memorable and inspiring.”
Besides lending a summery vibe, Maluma’s new collection continues to draw inspiration from his native Columbia and bring attention to the country’s beauty. For the summer collection, Maluma focused on the lesser-known coastal areas of Columbia.
“It was important for me to share in this collection more of the coastal side of Colombia that inspires me like Cartagena and Santa Marta, which have clear blue waters, picturesque beaches, and my love for the island scene,” he says. “[the Summer 2022 collection] takes you to the beach side of Colombia that many might not know about. And, I want to continue sharing Colombia with the world in all ways.” Maluma’s debut Royalty by Maluma collection, launched in March, was inspired by his hometown of Medellin.

Per Macy’s, Maluma continues to be an active collaborator in the design room, with the superstar even hand-cutting fabric during early conception meetings. In other words, the singer lent his eye — not just his name — to Royalty by Maluma.
“The meaning of royalty is to treat others with respect, love, and understanding,” the singer said of his first collection. “I want everyone to feel like kings and queens when wearing this collection.”
The new Royalty collection comes on the heels of Maluma’s recent EP, The Love & Sex Tape, released earlier this month. It’s yet another accomplishment in a busy year for the 28-year-old, who has also landed as an A-list actor with starring roles in Marry Me alongside Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson, and Disney’s Encanto, which was nominated for an Oscar (find out how to stream Encanto here).
