Fashion fans can add the late and great André Leon Talley’s larger-than-life style to their own wardrobes. The pioneering fashion journalist’s archive of designer treasures is now shoppable at What Goes Around Comes Around — minus a few pieces that were reportedly quickly snapped up by celebrity stylists before they even hit the store’s gold racks.

Available at WGACA’s Beverly Hills boutique and online, the 49-item collection comprises pieces acquired from Christie’s earlier this year and from his personal estate, from $1,150 for a nylon Chanel umbrella to a cool $150,000 for a Louis Vuitton x Steven Sprouse graffiti canvas trunk (gifted to ALT by Marc Jacobs). Other rare LV Monogram travel pieces once owned by stylish jet-setter (and hand-painted with his initials) are also in the mix, such as a ski bag, Alzer 80 and Bisten 55 luggage and a Zephyr travel suitcase with the Concorde Air France tag still attached.

There’s also a 1993 Hermès Haut à Courroies 60cm Birkin bag in red Rouge H Box leather for $75,000, Gianni Versace jacquard terry bath robes in yellow and red, a dramatic fringed black leather motorcycle jacket by Chrome Hearts, a double-breasted cashmere Gucci coat and a tailored Versace high-low hemline blazer with crystal-embellished buttons and gold-tone hardware — a hallmark of his flamboyant and unapologetic style.

WGACA celebrated the debut of its ALT collection with a starry cocktail party at its Beverly Hills outpost. Co-founders Seth Weisser and Gerard Maione were joined by guests including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lori Harvey, Liza Koshy, Big Sean, Lily Rabe, Jhene Aiko and others, with the afterparty heading to Hideaway.

Select pieces were acquired by WGACA earlier in February at the Christie’s Collection of André Leon Talley auction, where a private cocktail reception drew Vera Wang, Zac Posen, Elaine Welteroth, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Gabby Prescod, Maxwell Osborne and many others. (Proceeds from the auction benefitted the Abyssinian Baptist Church in NYC and Mount Sinai Baptist Church in North Carolina, which Talley supported in his lifetime.)

Bon on Oct. 16, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Talley covered fashion for Women’s Wear Daily, W, The New York Times, Air Mail and many other publications and was the former editor-at-large of U.S. Vogue. He released two memoirs — ALT in 2003 and The Chiffon Trenches in 2020 — and served as a judge on America’s Next Top Model alongside Tyra Banks and photographer Nigel Barker. He passed away last January at the age of 73, leaving a legacy of championing diversity in fashion and advocating for emerging designers.

His death drew countless tributes from friends in fashion, Hollywood and beyond, including Anna Wintour (the two reportedly repaired their once-broken relationship in the months before his death), Oprah, Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Tom Ford, Milla Jovovich, Kim Kardashian, Diane Von Furstenberg, Bob Mackie and many, many others.
