Theater fans who enjoy comedies will get a few laughs from a new show set to open June 3 in Minerva High School’s Auditeria.

Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce and Louisville Community Theatre will present the farce “Drop Dead” on June 3-4 and June 10-11.

Shows every night will be at 7 p.m. Theater doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and all seats are general admission. Tickets are $10 and can purchased at the Minerva Chamber office, 330-868-7979 or denise.freeland@minervachamber.org or at dropdeadtickets.eventbrite.com.

In this farce by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, a cast of has-been actors plan to revive their careers in a potboiler murder mystery directed by Victor Le Pewe, a psychotic, eye-twitching megalomaniac. At the dress rehearsal, the set falls, props break and someone is murdered. The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery, and stay alive for curtain calls.

Actors featured in the show are Andrew McNutt, Loni Porter, Don Marshall, Dave Pumneo, Sydney Lautzenheiser, Ryan Brady, Denise DiNarda, Roger Bartley, Malcolm Dostroph and Nathan Meadows, who also is the director.

The play was originally to be presented at the Chamber’s Roxy Theatre; however, due to ongoing renovations, it has been moved to Minerva High School. Seating capacity will remain the same as the Roxy.

Profits from ticket sales go to continued renovations and improvements at the Roxy. Donations toward the project are welcome, and sponsorships for new lighting are currently available. For more information, contact the Minerva Chamber office.
