Fantasia Barrino has brought her glam style across the pond.

The Color Purple star, 39, wore a bold red dress to the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards, for which she was nominated for leading actress in a film for her role as Celie in The Color Purple. Her figure-hugging gown featured an oversize shawl collar that wrapped around her, and she contrasted the bright color with black opera gloves and black heels. She matched her glam to her dress, wearing bold red lipstick as well.

While speaking on the BAFTAs live stream on the red carpet, Barrino, who is nominated for leading actress for her role in The Color Purple, spoke about how special this first BAFTAs is for her, saying, "God has been so good."

She added, "I'm pinching myself!"

The actress, who played the part of Celie on Broadway as well before stepping into the film, also said that, despite not really wanting to come back to this role, she feels connected to her and she has felt so connected to audiences in bringing her to life again.

"She goes through so much and she still comes out a winner," Barrino said. "She taught me a lot."

Barrino's red dress at the BAFTAs is a step outside the usual purple she's been wearing as of late (though she has mixed it up with some neutrals and a pop of other colors here and there). No matter how you look at it, the American Idol alum has been on a style streak. She and stylist Daniel Hawkins have also enjoyed showing her range of sartorial taste.

For the movie’s star-studded Los Angeles premiere on Dec. 6, she was spotted in a custom Sergio Hudson number with a train.

A day earlier at ELLE’s Women In Hollywood Celebration on Dec. 5, she rocked a Yousef Akbar design and Jimmy Choo platform sandals.

For the Golden Globes in January, where Barrino earned a nomination for her role, she wore a strapless dress and opera gloves. The design featured a black velvet top and silver skirt with a lilac overlay. She also wore a ring by Simon G and two pairs of earrings, a bracelet and ring by Ring Concierge jewelry.

The 2024 BAFTA Awards are being held at the Royal Festival Hall in London and streaming on BritBox in the U.S.
