"There's not enough wine in the world to [get me through it]," Clarkson joked.

Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia Barrino are commiserating over their shared hatred of watching themselves on American Idol.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson, who won the singing competition's first season, and Barrino, who won it two years later during season 3, had a chance to share their brutally honest feelings on rewatching their Idol performances.

During the interview, the host said she had to recently watch her old clips for an unspecified project, and asked Barrino if she ever had to do the same, and what her feelings were on the matter.

"I do, and a good glass of wine always sends me back, I kid you not," Barrino said with a laugh, adding, "I don't know if you're like me, I hate watching myself with a passion."

"I hate watching myself," Clarkson groaned in response. Barrino added that if she's had "a good glass of cab" she can usually get through it.

"There's not enough wine in the world to [get me through it]," Clarkson joked. "Like literally I watched it, and I had to, and dude, I feel like if I got through that I could do anything. I was like I did that, and it was hard. I was tired." To this, Barrino and Clarkson high-fived each other twice for moral support.

Elsewhere in the interview, Barrino dished on returning to The Color Purple for the movie adaptation, and how showing more of Celie's journey sold her on returning to the character. She also shared the hilarious story of how she learned that her performance in the film earned her a Golden Globe nomination. See more with Barrino and Clarkson in the video above.
