Fans Question Yung Miami Winning BET Hip Hop Award For ‘Caresha Please’ Podcast, She Responds

The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards aired last night (Oct. 10), featuring performances from today’s hottest artists, including the City Girls. Member Yung Miami also went home with the award for Best Hip-Hop Platform for her Revolt podcast, Caresha Please.

It appears that her win didn’t sit well with many viewers, considering the podcast has only dropped four episodes within the last year and went up against more consistent heavy-hitters like Drink Champs, The Breakfast Club and The Joe Budden Podcast. Viewers took to various social media outlets to express their disagreement and question exactly why and how she won.

“Just disrespectful. She did not deserve that over the other nominees,” wrote one observer, with another adding, “Now diddy def paid for that, my girl show funny but she has only like 4 or 5 episodes, if that.”

“I Like Miami But Ain’t No Way She Beat Breakfast Club, Joe Budden and Drink Champs, bruh she don’t got that many episodes to even compete,” added another critic, as another agreed, “People actually do this weekly, some twice a week and she wins for having a show every couple months?? Let’s bfr.”

Yung Miami took to The Neighborhood Talk’s comment section to address the naysayers, acknowledging her blessings while asserting she must be hated by the masses.

“Damn y’all hate me bad but God keep blessing me,” she replied, adding two smiley face emojis to emphasize her unbotheredness.

Fellow nominees for the Best Hip Hop Platform included AllHipHop, Drink Champs, Hip Hop DX, Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Rap Caviar, The Breakfast Club, The Joe Budden Podcast and XXL.

Caresha Please also took home the same award during last year’s ceremony, tying with fellow Revolt podcast Drink Champs. During a 2022 visit to The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne questioned Diddy as to whether or not he paid for or pulled strings behind the scenes to guarantee his lover went home with an award.

“I love Caresha…but it tied with Drink Champs. Diddy, you know that’s some bullsh*t…so you paid for that,” Charlamagne told the mogul, who responded, “I didn’t pay for that…”

“I love Caresha, but she only got five episodes,” Charlamagne added. “How she beat Drink Champs with five episodes, c’mon Diddy!”

“Because it was the best podcast of the year, hands down,” Diddy insisted, leading Charlamagne to yell “STOP!” before insisting Drink Champs or Million Dollaz Worth Of Game should have taken the win solo. Check out the clip below.
