  • Taylor Swift's vault track "You're Losing Me" became available to stream on Wednesday.

  • Her collaborator, Jack Antonoff, revealed on Instagram that the song was written in December 2021.

  • Antonoff's revelation could shed light on Swift's relationship with her former boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

Swifties think Jack Antonoff spilled some tea about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's split.

Swift appears to be dating NFL player Travis Kelce these days, but fans are looking back at her relationship with Alwyn after "You're Losing Me" was finally made available to stream.

The song was originally released in May as a CD exclusive, first sold at MetLife Stadium during her three-show residency.

On Wednesday, Swift was announced as Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023; she decided to make "You're Losing Me" widely available to thank fans for their support.

"You're Losing Me," which is billed as a vault track from her 10th album "Midnights," describes the experience of falling out of love and wondering if the relationship is worth saving.

"Do I throw out everything we built or keep it? / I'm getting tired even for a phoenix / Always rising from the ashes / Mending all her gashes / You might just have dealt the final blow," Swift sings in the first verse.

Swift's longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who cowrote the song, celebrated the release with a now-deleted Instagram story on Wednesday, which Business Insider viewed.

"you're losing me is out today. a very special track from the midnights sessions that's finally streaming! written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 right after taylor ate these raisins," Antonoff wrote, referring to a photo of Swift he shared.

Representatives for Swift and Antonoff did not immediately respond to BI's request for comment made outside regular working hours.

Fans are shocked that Swift appeared to write 'You're Losing Me' — which they believe is about Alwyn — more than a year before they broke up

Swifties immediately noticed the date Antonoff mentioned. He said the song was written in December 2021, more than a year before Swift's split from Alwyn was confirmed in April 2023. The pair, who remained mum about their relationship in public, dated for six years.

"The relationship had just run its course," a source told Entertainment Tonight in April.

Because "You're Losing Me" was surprise-released only two months later, many fans assumed it was inspired by Alywn. However, Antonoff's revelation implies the timeline is off, or "You're Losing Me" was inspired by someone else.

On X, formerly Twitter, one fan shared a viral gif of Jennifer Lawrence during her "Hot Ones" interview in response.

Another added: "Sorry, can't talk. Taylor Swift wrote You're Losing Me on December 5, 2021."

Other fans poked fun at Antonoff for sharing the details: "jack antonoff never letting joe alwyn have another peaceful day in his life," one person wrote.

"funniest part of the jack antonoff instagram story that there was absolutely no reason to include the exact date of when they wrote you're losing me so to say he made an active choice there is an understatement," another person pointed out.

It's important to note that Swift has never named any of her romantic muses. She has also said her life is full of "really big things" that remain private, even if fans believe they know "the whole narrative."

Just one day after Antonoff shared details about "You're Losing Me," Swift's longtime publicist Tree Paine also joined online discourse about Swift and Alwyn's relationship.

In a rare public statement, Paine shut down a rumor that Swift and Alwyn had a secret wedding ceremony before they split. She slammed the anonymous gossip blog Deuxmoi for spreading "fabricated lies."

"There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post," Paine wrote on X. "It's time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these."

Following her split with Alwyn, Swift was linked to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy before spending time with Kelce.

Swift has supported Kelce at his Kansas City Chiefs games this fall, and he attended one of her concerts for The Eras Tour in Buenos Aires in November.
