Fans Speculate About the Meaning of the Number “2” After Taylor Swift Drops Numerous References in 24 Hours
- Oops!Something went wrong.Please try again later.
In the past 24 hours, Taylor Swift has blessed us with (1) a pop-up library in Los Angeles and (2) a teaser announcing the upcoming music video for The Tortured Poets Department that’s set to drop on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. And naturally, both are absolutely jam-packed with Easter eggs.
But one thing they have in common? Randomly, and at this point very mysteriously, the number 2.
First up, there’s the fact that the clocks in both the library and the teaser video are set to 2:00. Like, to reiterate: Three clocks are set to the exact same time. This *cannot* be a coincidence.
Two clocks in the official #TSTTPD music video premiere announcement clip and the one in the Spotify library today have indicted 2am 🤍

Then there’s the fact that there are two stars next to this cute lil calendar announcement of Tay’s music video:

On top of that, remember when the musician announced The Tortured Poets Department at the Grammys? She made a peace sign (or held up the number 2, depending on your interpretation), and friends....there’s a wooden hand in the shape of a peace sign at her library installation.

Oh, and there are two desks and two typewriters featured in her video teaser:
guys there are TWO desks, TWO typewriters, TWO chairs, and TWO coffee cups…. plus the clock is set to 2. Something double is absolutely happening. #TSTTPD pic.twitter.com/U58PzDOEvP

I mean, this is obviously a lot of twos. Like, a surplus of twos some might say. And naturally, fans think something is happening at 2 a.m. on the night of Taylor’s album release—with theories ranging from surprise music videos to a 2 a.m. edition or even the bonus tracks dropping all at once.
I am guessing at 2am we will just get the four bonus tracks that are on the vinyls!
