Bristol Palin announced on Monday that she’s leaving Teen Mom OG after just one season — and she insisted that it’s not an April Fools’ joke.

Palin, the 28-year-old daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and a mother of three, joined the MTV reality show last fall. Her storyline highlighted the breakdown of her marriage to Dakota Meyer, and even featured a cameo from her famous mom.

But it’s all coming to an end. According to Palin — who became a teen mom at 18 when she and ex Levi Johnston welcomed son Tripp in 2008 — she’s leaving the show, which “wasn’t a fit for me” and “took away my peace.”

Palin went on to tell fans that money “doesn’t impress me” and that she doesn’t “entertain bs.”

“Walking away from this show allows God to rebuild me (and my little fam) in the right direction,” she wrote.

The decision isn’t completely unexpected. In December, Palin accused MTV of promoting “inaccuracies and false narratives” that cast her as a “fake fill-in Farrah Abraham,” a reference to the former Teen Mom OG star she replaced.

Not all viewers will be missing her.

“Your story was boring anyways,” a commenter responded, later adding, “She talked about one thing the whole season. I actually was excited for her to come on the show but her story was boring.”

“I’m confused — you knew what the show was and what it would include before you joined?!” read another comment. “So at one point there was a price? You went through a divorce on public TV, I’m sure peace was never in the contract.”

“As an Alaskan I’m glad you won’t be on the screen,” added a critic. “Disgraceful your family is!!! These young teens have no idea how much shame you have brought to Alaska.”

Other fans, however, supported her decision.

“The day you announced being on this show I was incredibly disappointed,” one wrote. “All this show does is create unnecessary drama between families, exploiting women and children’s lives for money, because at one point in time they were teenage parents. Proud that you stepped away.”

“I still saw you for you,” a fan added. “You’re too real for them. They didn’t like that. They wanted your drama but you ain’t about that life.”

“First mom to be true to her word about leaving instead of empty threats,” noted a commenter.

Some suggested that Palin — who has appeared on numerous reality shows, including Dancing with the Stars — star on her own show again. But for now, she’s tied up with another job: realtor.

The Alaska native has recently been working in real estate in Austin, Texas — and even sold ex-husband Meyer’s home.
