Fans Are Puzzled After Learning About How Young Celine Dion Was When She Met Late Husband René

When couples meet, you can’t tell when and where it’ll happen. For Celine Dion, she met her future husband at an age much younger than anyone thought (and the resurfaced report has fans in a tizzy).

In details recently resurfaced by Hello Magazine, it’s been discovered by fans that Dion met her husband René Angélil when she was 12 years old, and he was 38. They reportedly met at this time, when Angélil became Dion’s manager. When they first met, he was allegedly brought to tears by her singing.
“While I was singing he started to cry,” she said to People back in 1980. “I knew then I had done a good job.”
No details about their relationship became clear until around 1987. Years after, Dion confirmed that she and Angélil went on their first date when she was 19 years old. However, per People, she later admitted that their romantic relationship started when she was actually 18 and he was 44.
And in her memoir, Céline Dion: My Story, My Dream, she talked about pining for him in secret. In 1988, she reportedly “threw myself into his arms. Later that night, I was seated at the head of the bed, legs folded under the covers. I was happy about being alone with the man I loved.”
Per People, she also revealed after his death that he was the only man she’s ever kissed. (“…the man that I love, the only man that I kissed, the only man that I loved… “I never kissed another man in my life. So the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering I said to myself, he’s okay. And he deserves not to suffer.”)
They got engaged in 1991, and went officially public with their relationship in 1993. They married in Dec 17, 1994, renewed their vows in 2000 and later welcomed three children: René-Charles, born Jan 2001, an twins Nelson and Eddy, born in Oct 2010. They were together until Angélil’s death in early 2016.
Now, this resurfaced report has left many puzzled. Plus, within the past few months, quite a few X accounts have been bringing up this disturbing timeline, and now, with this report, this knowledge is hitting the mainstream again.
