Fans love vigilante justice for sexual assault on 'Riverdale'

Riverdale touched on a very important social issue this week when Archie Andrews found out that the despicable Nick St. Clair, who attempted to rape Cheryl Blossom (in the November 9th episode, titled "When a Stranger Calls"), also assaulted his girlfriend, Veronica Lodge. So, Archie decided to do something about it. Dressed as a student, Archie showed up at the prep school Nick attends to confront him in his dorm room. After a lot of intimidation tactics by Archie, Nick asked, "Why are you really here, Archie? For Ronnie?" Archie then told Nick, "Payback for what you did to Cheryl and Veronica." However, Nick being the terrible person that he is, then stated, "Payback? No. You know what I think? I think you're a small town hick who's beginning to realize how deep into shark-infested waters he really is. Careful, when Veronica Lodge smells blood, she'll turn on you, too." And that's when Archie completely lost it and went all beast mode on him. Even though violence is never the answer, Riverdale fans were actually down for the fact that justice was served. One person tweeted, "Archie bringing the hammer of justice to Nick St. Clair" While others wrote, "Archie went in on Nick" and "Me looking at Archie beating up Nick" In the end, Archie asked Veronica why she kept the incident a secret, and she responded by explaining a similar feeling that, unfortunately, some victims are still facing today. "I felt foolish, for not seeing him for what he really was."
