Fans Have Just Discovered James Corden Doesn't Actually Drive in 'Carpool Karaoke'

On the Late Late Show that is hosted by James Corden, there is a very popular segment titled 'Carpool Karaoke' that consistently makes it way around the internet after its initial release on the show. In the segment, Corden picks up high-profile musical artists, asks them some questions, and of course, gets to the karaoke part by blasting the artists' biggest songs. It's such a refreshing segment as you see successful artists singing to their own songs on the radio, along with Corden. Recently, though, fans have discovered that the show host doesn't even drive the car.

Video Posted to Social Media Showing Vehicle Being Towed

In a video posted by Corden, the host claimed that he was going to be filming with Justin Bieber. The video showed the all-familiar black mid-size SUV being towed by another vehicle. Fans felt utterly betrayed by the ploy and went to twitter to voice their concerns, of course, in a joking manner.

One fan on Twitter wrote citing an ongoing problem with trust issues, "Saw James Corden and Justin Bieber filming carpool karaoke and this is why I have trust issues - he isn't even driving! Next thing you know they gonna tell us that his friends don't actually need a ride."

People React to the Betrayal: 'My Life Is a Lie'

Most of the comments featured people on social media feeling as though everything is a lie now. "All along I used to respect James Corden for being able to concentrate on driving and singing at the same time: but now I feel betrayed. So even the Amigos, Mariah Carey, Michelle Obama and the rest was just a lie," another user wrote, extrapolating the filming trick to much bigger situations at play.

"I always wondering how safe it is, how the police didn't pull them over, i thought they had police cars to guard them in front and back and some unbusy street to do the shoot. I never thought that they pull the car," said yet another, chiming in on the safety issues that are rightfully warranted by what goes on in the car during the segment.

Safety Concerns Make the Idea to Not Drive a Given

While many people joked about the betrayal, others tended to focus on the safety concerns that surrounded someone who was very distracted while driving, sometimes not looking at the road for extended periods of time. "I knew it. It is a tad bit impossible for a Brit to drive on US roads while singing on top of his lungs!" There's just no fooling some people, is there," a person commented.

And to be honest, it would probably be against human resources policies at CBS to endanger not only the lives of the people within the vehicle but also the others around on the roads.

Corden and Adam Levine Pulled Over in 2018 By Police Officer

Back in 2018, Corden and lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine, were filming for one of the Carpool Karaoke segments and they were incidentally pulled over by the police. However, it was apparent that the officer wasn't looking to levy any charges for reckless endangerment, but instead, was interested in hearing the two do a little singing. It was ultimately, all in good fun.

Lesson learned, though, things may not always be what they seem, at least as it pertains to Carpool Karaoke.
