Post Malone's new collaboration with one of country's most controversial performers, Morgan Wallen, just dropped, and music fans are divided by his choice.

The pair's new duet, "I Had Some Help," was released on Friday, May 10, and, according to the Twitter account Chart Data, it reached the top slot on the United States iTunes chart in under 12 hours.

But while some were so bold as to declare it "the greatest country song ever written," calling for the musicians to "do an entire album together" after hearing the "fire" song in all its glory, most were left with a bad taste in their mouth.

One questioned why Post would pair up with Wallen, suggesting we just "throw em both away" with a gif from the children's television show Bear in the Big Blue House.

Others called it "the biggest downgrade of the century" for him to go from featuring on Taylor Swift's "Fortnight" to recording with the "Last Night" singer, while others pointed to his collaboration with Beyonce, too.

Rather than "the greatest country song ever," someone else called it "legitimately one of the worst songs of the year" and "a new low," calling on listeners to "stop supporting trash like that."

"...we will NOT be streaming this one," one fan agreed on the social media platform, while another said, "If Post Malone is gonna do country music, he needs to do it with literally anyone else than Morgan Wallen."

Others staunchly disagreed, giving it "the song of the summer" title, adding, "Not the collab we expected but the collab we all needed."

Many also enjoyed this genre for the pop/rap artist, suggesting, "Post Malone's genre-bending talent strikes again! This track's gonna keep me under its spell for quite some time. Can't resist the Posty magic."

The country crooner has found himself embroiled in multiple controversies in the past, recently charged with reckless endangerment after hurling a chair off of a rooftop bar in Nashville last month and facing lawsuits from irate fans after he failed to appear at his own concert, blaming his health weeks later.
