Fans call out 'Bachelor' contestant Madison for seemingly creating a faux fan account for herself
A "Bachelor" contestant competing for Peter Weber's affections is receiving eye-rolls from fans who think she created a faux fan Instagram account for herself.
Madison Prewitt, who widely considered one of this season's frontrunners, earlier this week posted photos of her romantic televised first date with Weber. Among the enthusiastic reactions was a comment that read: "Beautiful date Madi. You are so genuine and real."
The only issue? The comment was posted from Prewitt's own account, indicating that she herself wrote it.
"Bachelor" fans were quick to call out the awkward comment, suggesting that Prewitt, 23, accidentally posted the message without remembering to switch over to a separate anonymous username. Instagram allows users to manage multiple personal accounts.
A fan grabbed a screenshot of the cringeworthy gaffe before it was deleted, captioning it, "We, too, believe we are genuine and real. Happy to provide tutorials on toggling between your personal and fan accounts."

Fans are also skeptical of a follow-up explanation that was later supposedly posted by one of Prewitt's friends: "Oops. Thought I wrote that comment about being real & genuine from my account but was logged into Madi's from when she got back from filming. Don't hate me @madiprew," the person wrote. The user has no name, and his or her photo does not show a clear image of a face.
"Hahahaha you're good," Prewitt replied. "It happens love youuuu."
"It happens?!?? That literally never happens," one fan wrote with laughing emojis, while another said, "It's not the end of the world but the cover up makes it look bad."
Social media silliness aside, Prewitt has quickly racked up plenty of fan support. She's also, so far, effectively charmed Weber, who selected her for the first 1-on-1 date of the season.
