This weekend, the couple have been touring Nigeria, going to many official events, visiting schools, and speaking on subjects that matter greatly to them, like mental health. However, some noticed a detail about the first dress Meghan wore on their Nigeria trip, and it’s caused a bit of an uproar.

While visiting Lights Academy in Abuja, Nigeria, on May 10, Meghan donned a beautiful, flowing peach gown from Heidi Merrick called the ‘Windsor’ Dress, along with vintage Lanvin earrings, Emme Parsons shoes, and jewelry from Ariel Gordon Maffei and Aurate, per WhatMeghanWore.

Now, if you caught that, Meghan donned a dress that is actually named the Windsor dress. And fans are quite split on this. Many on X, the app formerly known as Twitter, believe this was a calculated move against the British royal family.

She is taking a page out of Wallis’s handbook,” referring to the defiant nature of the late Wallis, Duchess of Windsor. Another user said, “OK.
