Family Members, Political Figures, and Celebrities Pay Tribute to President George H.W. Bush
Former President George H. W. Bush died on Friday at the age of 94. Over the course of a 40-year career in public service, he also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, congressman from Texas, ambassador to the United Nations, American envoy to China, C.I.A. director, and as vice president to Ronald Reagan. President Bush was the father of 43rd president George W. Bush, as well as Florida governor and 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush. His wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush, died in April. Family members, colleagues, and admirers took to social media to honor the late president.
