‘Fallout’ Becomes First TV Series to Top List of Titles Consumers Are Most Excited About Since ‘The Last of Us’

What are the entertainment offerings that consumers are most excited about? It’s a question that marketers, distributors, advertisers and media publications are always asking.

ScreenShare, a data partnership between Screen Engine/ASI and TheWrap, tracks the Top 10 most-mentioned entertainment items every week and whether each has gained or lost momentum compared to the prior week. The chart lives on the Data & Analysis page of the WrapPRO Members Hub.

“Fallout,” streaming on Amazon Prime Video, rises to No. 1 after debuting at No. 4 last week. Based on the video game series by Bethesda Game Studios, “Fallout” is the first TV series to reach No. 1 since March of 2023, when HBO’s adaptation of the Naughty Dog game “The Last of Us” held the top spot.

“While we often see popular established titles such as ‘Yellowstone,’ ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ in the Top 10, it is rare to see a TV series launch with this level of excitement out of the gate,” notes Ben Spergel, Screen Engine’s SVP, Syndicated Tracking. “Given the last time we saw this was with HBO’s ‘The Last of Us,’ this speaks highly of the ‘video game to TV series’ genre in terms of fan enthusiasm.”

Next on the list, “Dune: Part Two” maintains its No. 2 position and is now available to rent and buy for a premium on digital platforms. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” holds at No. 3. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” drops from No. 1 to No. 4, while “Deadpool & Wolverine” rounds out the Top 5.

“Kung Fu Panda 4” clocks another week on the list, landing at No. 6. The animated sequel arrived on Digital on April 9. “Bridgerton” is back, landing at No. 7, after the release of its much-anticipated trailer for Season 3. A24’s conversation-starting hit “Civil War” holds another week on the list, landing at No. 8. “Bob Marley: One Love,” now streaming on Paramount+, returns to the list at No. 9, while “Wonka,” streaming on Max, returns at No. 10.
