The stakes are getting higher as Fall is becoming a trilogy.

On Tuesday, the director and co-writer of the 2022 thriller, Scott Mann, confirmed that two sequels are in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mann will produce both, plus write and direct the third entry. The outlet reported that the second film will begin filming in June.

"I am thrilled to be continuing the Fall journey and taking it to the next level. We’ve got a really special cinematic experience planned, and I’m immensely grateful to my fellow producers for backing the vision," Mann said, per THR.

"I’m also excited to be working with new collaborators as well as reuniting with the original gang, and obviously can’t wait to be back filming thousands of feet up."

In Fall, Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner played best friends Becky and Hunter, who try to overcome their fears together by climbing a 2,000-foot abandoned radio tower in a remote location. Things go wrong, and they become stranded on top, challenging their survival instincts.

The film also starred Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Mason Gooding.

Mann told MovieWeb last year that inspiration for Fall came from his personal fear of heights.

"I remember thinking, ‘Heights hasn’t really been done fully in a film yet.’ There’s never been something purely focused on that fear, and that fear is in all of us," he said.

About the thriller's story, Mann added, "At the core of it, there’s an element of grief after losing someone, and then climbing up and rising up again. I think there’s a resonance, a personal part, but a wider bit I would say as much about what we’ve been through the last couple of years as a world."

"We’ve kind of all been through this traumatic experience, and I think we’re all looking to climb out of that," he added. "I think, weirdly, having the escapism of a trauma-type movie like this that then pumps you on the other side with a message that heals you, I think that’s what people can really take from it. … It’s a heart-stopper with a big heart. That’s the thing that resonates."

Fall is now on demand and currently streaming on Starz.
