Falcons land Kayvon Thibodeaux in PFF’s latest mock draft

The Falcons hold the No. 8 selection in the 2022 NFL draft, but with so many holes on the roster, there are a number of different paths the team could potentially take.

This includes the edge rusher position, one that has been difficult for Atlanta to properly address in recent seasons. Every failed attempt to find a pass rusher has resulted in more financial constraints for the front office.

In Pro Football Focus’ latest mock draft, the Falcons take Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux in round one.

Thibodeaux ended the 2021 season, with 49 tackles (35 solo), 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Once regarded as the consensus number one selection, Thibodeaux’s stock has seemingly taken a small hit. However, this fall isn’t necessarily indicative of anything other than players taking advantage of recency bias to improve their own stock. Thibodeaux would be a greatly welcomed player in Atlanta.
