Ezra Miller’s Band, Sons of an Illustrious Father, Put Their Own Spin on Pussycat Dolls’ ‘Don’t Cha’
Ezra Miller’s band, Sons of an Illustrious Father, have put their own spin on one of the mid-2000s classics, “Don’t Cha” by the Pussycat Dolls.
The dark version of the tune shows Miller and bandmates Lilah Larson and Josh Aubin dressed in black leotards in an empty warehouse, dancing against dim, colorful neon lights. Miller rocks a dark lipstick and looks sultrily into the camera as he croons the lyrics.

Larson recently told Another Mag that the idea for the video was inspired by a queer dance party they attended in Nashville, Tennessee. “It was clearly the best thing happening in town that night and was therefore being infiltrated by ostensibly hetero couples, who were sort of uncomfortably ogling the frolicking queers – including us – in a way that belied their envy and lust,” she explained. “The original song came on and Ezra and I in a typical moment of psychic connection looked at each other and agreed that the track, sung from our perspective, would perfectly encapsulate this common experience.”
Larson added that their version was meant to “ridicule and invert” the heterosexual nature of the tune, “while also absolutely celebrating the genuine pleasure possible in being an object of desire.”
