(NBC) — The semi-finals of NBC’s “The Voice” are on Monday, nine singers will perform live hoping America will vote them in for one of five spots in next week’s finale.

It was a pause that only lasted about ten seconds, but it seemed like forever for the last semi-finalist on “The Voice.”

“I almost like jumped out of my own body that’s how excited I was,” said Tae Lewis of team Dan + Shay.

Lewis and the other eight semi-finalists have been preparing for performances since last Tuesday that could land them in next week’s Season 25 finale.

“I’m incredibly lucky, really, really blessed to be in the position I’m in right now,” said Nathan Chester of Team Legend.

“America, their votes pushed me to this round, so it’s so humbling and such a wonderful feeling,” said Bryan Olesen of Team Legend.

“The fact that America felt touched enough and loved my voice enough to bring me to the top nine feels just like a fairy tale,” said Madison Curebelo of Team Dan + Shay.

The challenge now is to showcase the skills and talents that will earn those votes from America once again.

“For this next week, I kind of want to do something a little bit more vulnerable,” said Serenity Arce of Team Chance. “And just like switch it up a little bit.”

“No one made history by playing it safe, so I’m doing something extremely risky,” said Karen Waldrup of Team Dan + Shay.

“I’m definitely going to be showcasing some more movement, some dancing, some attitude,” said Maddi Jane of Team Chance.

“It’s gonna be an upbeat, go after it, go get it kind of song,” said Josh Sanders of Team Reba.

All of which sets up some emotional results come Tuesday night.

“I think if I make top five, I’m gonna crawl to Reba,” said Asher Havon of Team Reba. “I’m just gonna crawl!”

“The Voice” airs Monday at 8 p.m., followed by the season finale of “Deal or No Deal Island” at 10 p.m.
